While most see the Affordable Care Act as insurance coverage for a large proportion of the uninsured population in the United States, it also has a ripple effect on the domain of public health. The background for how public health is practiced and delivered in this country is drastically changing. Public health will need to adapt, adjust, and engage with both healthcare insurers and providers in order to take full advantage of the modification to the country’s healthcare system.
